Marketing to college students on a budget

Trial and Test Before Launch

It is common to want to test and trial something you have never done before. At Campus Commandos, we worked with McDonalds on their McDelivery launch. We held a successful event that drove downloads, but started in a single market before expansion.

For further details on the event, read the Case Study on our website.

This activation inspired us to create our own version of the McDonalds Dollar Menu.

The purpose of the McDonald’s Dollar Menu was to attract budget-conscious consumers during economic downturns by offering simple, affordable items to boost traffic and gain market share against competitors. It also helped to create a perception of value and to build customer loyalty that would lead to purchases of higher-priced items. It was a strategic tool to keep customers coming in when money was tight, offering items like the McChicken and fries for $1.

Campus Commandos began putting marketing activities on its own “dollar menu” as a way for companies to test our services during COVID. It was successful, so we kept it on the menu.

Although our dollar menu starts in the thousands, it allows brands a less expensive way to test the same capabilities as and incorporate best practices of our nationwide Fortune 500 clients.
