Most resumes are glanced at for 6 seconds. And even if they do pass the test, there’s still the cover letter and interview to consider.
So do your homework. The finest news reporters, doctors, artists, retailers, and, even, the finest of friends, are people who are listeners. And it’s that ability to study, to ask questions, to hungrily consume and make use of information that is important when considering internships. Many of our campus representatives learn these valuable skills as they complete tasks, giving them an advantage in the job market.
Polish and preen. And ditch the holey blue jeans. You are the best person to tell your own story. So tell it with pride and purpose and poise.
(There is plenty more where that came from. Download Go Commando’s Skills to Land a Dream Internship E-book below.)
